Congressman Al Green to bring articles of impeachment against Trump

From the congressman’s office: Al Green will announce that he will bring articles of impeachment against President Trump to a vote within weeks. These articles of impeachment will articulate the president’s bigoted policies and statements, among them the separation of children from their parents and his recent attack on […] fellow congresswomen of color.

John Cornyn

On Monday, Sen. John Cornyn’s campaign announced it raised more than $2.5 million in the second quarter. “Over the last three months we’ve seen a massive surge in enthusiasm and grassroots support for the campaign,” Cornyn campaign manager John Jackson said in a statement reported by the Texas Tribune. For a senator who has been in the U.S. Senate for 12 years, and in elected office for 30 in Texas, $2.5 million isn’t all that hot. It certainly doesn’t show a “massive surge.” (Aren’t surges always massive?)

Immigration raids

Despite the loads of publicity, Trump’s push to roundup undocumented immigrants didn’t seem—yet—to materialize in Houston. “All quiet in Houston,” Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said yesterday. “I expect ICE will conduct routine removal operations during the week.” We continue to follow this story and will have an update later today.
