Podcast | Tim O’Brien on Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign

by | Jan 27, 2020 | 2020 Elections, Politics

On this week’s show, the Signal sat down with Tim O’Brien, senior advisor to Democratic presidential candidate and “pragmatic progressive” Michael Bloomberg. Team Bloomberg is making Texas a critical component of its strategy.

O’Brien spoke about the former New York mayor’s longtime progressive values on climate change, women’s health, and economic opportunity. Earlier this month, Bloomberg released the Greenwood Initiative, which closes the gap between white and Black Americans.

O’Brien candidly addressed the mayor’s record on criminal justice reform, including the mistake of “stop and frisk” and the positive improvements in curbing New York City’s incarceration rates as well as introducing a social program for racial equality that was later adopted by the Obama administration. Have a listen.
