Trump says he’d be receptive to damaging intel on his 2020 rivals from a foreign power

ABC News is reporting Wednesday that President Trump would listen to damaging information on his political opponents provided by foreign powers.

“President Donald Trump may not alert the FBI if foreign governments offered damaging information against his 2020 rivals during the upcoming presidential race, he said, despite the deluge of investigations stemming from his campaign’s interactions with Russians during the 2016 campaign,” reported ABC.

Special counsel Robert Mueller concluded there were  numerous contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia, an American adversary, during the 2016 presidential campaign.

As expected congressional Democrats pounced. And Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke almost immediately sent out a petition calling for the beginning of impeachment proceedings.

The question is: What will Republicans, including Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, say about Trump’s remarks? More silence?

Another 2020 presidential candidate, Julian Castro, weighed in, too, following Trump’s troubling comments.
