A Note From The Editor
It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the Texas Signal Media Foundation, a nonprofit newsroom devoted to creating honest public interest reporting by and for the new Texas majority. We are the outgrowth of a company that was founded in 2019 to fill a critical gap in our political and social media landscape.
As part of our new 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we have debuted a new website, a free weekly newsletter, and a donation system that will allow us to retain and cultivate a new generation of reporters for in-depth and introspective coverage. The topics that we are covering include reproductive healthcare, the environment, education, culture, and more.
Like our readers, the Texas Signal newsroom reflects the great diversity of our state. We are looking forward to adding contributors and fellows with unique backgrounds from all parts of Texas. And we will not be hiding behind any paywalls. Our services will be free. But subscribers will receive early access to important features and invitations to exclusive events geared for our readers.
Current articles that you can find from the new Texas Signal include an interview with an abortion provider who worked as a consultant for the Apple TV series The Morning Show, a discussion with Harris County Attorney Christian D. Menefee about his new role with the Environmental Protection Agency, and a profile of a Young Adult author who has created a world of magic in Texas.
We are excited to start this new chapter of the Texas Signal.
