No Kings Protests Return To Texas
Thousands of Texans took part in No Kings protests in all corners of the state
On Saturday, March 28, thousands of Texans from all corners of the state took part in another round of “No Kings” protests and demonstrations. The rallies were organized to push back on many of the policies of the Trump administration.
The title “No Kings” signifies that the United States is a democracy, and not a monarchy. Many of the signs and chants from the “No Kings” protesters were denouncing authoritarianism and totalitarianism.

These were the third round of “No Kings” events taking place around the world. In Texas, speakers and protesters spoke out against many recent actions from the Trump White House, from immigration enforcement to the war in Iran.
In Austin, their No Kings event included a rally at City Hall before a march that led to Auditorium Shores. There, over eighty organizations had set up “teach-in” tents for community engagement. There were also “ICE” sculptures that were melting throughout the day.
In Dallas, one of the speakers included a young volunteer who read a letter from a child that has been detained at Dilley Detention Center for 45 days. According to the young girl, named Ariana, “I have never felt so much fear.”
After the Dallas No Kings rally, a march took place. However, a small group of counter protesters, which included former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio (convicted of seditious conspiracy but pardoned by President Trump), skirmished with the crowd. At least one individual was arrested by the Dallas police.
But for the most part, the No Kings demonstrations in Texas were all peaceful. No Kings events were also not limited to larger cities or suburbs. There were No Kings actions in Amarillo, Forney, Georgetown, Midlothian, Paris, The Woodlands and Wichita Falls.
According to Indivisible, there were over 3,300 protests held throughout the world. They estimate at least 8 million protesters, making it one of the largest demonstrations in history.
